Stale or missing energy data

Understand Live, Stale and Not connected states, then check the connection before assuming automation has failed.

Reviewed

VPPiQ Home needs recent, usable readings to plan well. A stale or missing source can delay learning, hide a chart or prevent a new plan from being applied. It does not automatically prove that an existing device schedule has stopped.

Live means recent readings are arriving. If a node says Stale or Not connected, open that asset and check Connections before assuming automation has failed.

What to check

Work through the status

  1. Read the Energy Map badge

Live, Stale and Not connected describe the current feed, not your bill.

  2. Open the affected asset

Battery, solar, grid and car pages repeat the freshness problem and often link back to Settings.

  3. Confirm the provider connection

Reconnect from Settings > Connections if the account link has expired. Wait for discovery to finish.

  4. Check household setup

An unconfirmed tariff, incomplete onboarding or Preview Mode can also explain why actions are not applied.
